Stuart Huys
Cultural Heritage Management Australia
Stuart Huys is a founding director of Cultural Heritage Management Australia (CHMA), and has been a consultant archaeologist for over 25 years, in which time he has successfully completed over 450 archaeological projects throughout Australia. As the principal archaeologist, and senior project manager, Stuart ensures that clients' needs and statutory requirements are met. He has successfully consulted to Aboriginal organisations, industry and government during some of Australia's largest infrastructure projects.
Stuart has been responsible for the production of Cultural Heritage Management Plans for a number of high profile National Park areas. These include the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area, the Fraser Island World Heritage Area, Wilsons Promontory National Park, Mitchell River National Park, the Namadgi National Park and the Western Tasmanian Aboriginal cultural landscape. Stuart was a principal consultant during the drafting of the ACT's Indigenous cultural heritage assessment process.
Stuart Huys has lectured in Archaeology at the Australian National University, and is also an Accredited Trainer, and has delivered courses throughout Australia focusing on Cultural heritage Awareness and Management.
