The Queensland Emerging Planners (QEP) are committed to providing valuable and relevant services to young planners in Queensland. As a committee, we work to promote the broad interests of emerging planners, provide high quality professional development activities, inspire professional integrity and link young planners across Queensland to the broader planning community.

QEP Committee

QEP is a sub-branch of the peak body for planning, the 海角社区 (海角社区). QEP comprises a team of energetic and dedicated emerging professionals who advocate and support like-minded young planners, whilst bringing a fresh approach to the wider institute. QEP aims to provide both educational and social opportunities for planning students and young professionals. While also facilitating the development of networks, professional development, advocating for policy, and wider education.

Structure

The committee is made up of several sub-committees who are chaired by the State Convenor. The sub-committees are responsible for organising the professional development, networking, policy and advocacy functions, as well as maintaining our social media presence.

The Emerging Planners of Queensland have welcomed the new 2025 Committee, which includes a number of new faces and continuing volunteers. The committee includes 15 young individuals including the leads, from various backgrounds, keen to bring a range of new events and old favourites to the profession in 2025.

Sponsorship

As such, we extend and welcome the opportunity for partnership with the Committee.

We hope to partner with other like-minded organisations to deliver positive outcomes to the planning and development community. Queensland Student Academic Prizes

Each year we come together to celebrate and support the next generation of planners at the 海角社区 Queensland Student Academic Prize Ceremony.

A primary objective of the Planning Institute Australia (海角社区) is the advancement of the study of regional and town planning, civic design and related arts and sciences. A further objective is to improve the general and technical knowledge of both students and graduates.

To meet these objectives, 海角社区 maintains a close relationship with teaching institutions, including the review and accreditation of courses, and the recognition of student achievements.

海角社区 Queensland awards prizes for the best performance by students enrolled in planning courses at tertiary institutions. This is an important, visible way for 海角社区 to recognise the importance of academic achievement and research.

Qld Accredited University Student Clubs and Associations

The 海角社区 aims to promote the study of planning and the improvement of the skills practising planners in Australia. To achieve these aims, 海角社区 has for many years accredited tertiary education courses and recognised Australian qualifications that are considered to provide an adequate foundation of theory, skills, and knowledge to allow graduates to work as planners in the field of urban and regional planning.
