The SA Women in Planning Network Committee are excited to once again host the 海角社区 SA Outstanding Woman In Planning Award Breakfast, where the South Australian planning community comes together to acknowledge and celebrate the amazing contributions of women planners to the profession and to our state.
This year we will be joined by guest speakers Helen Dyer (Commissioner - ERD Court), and Sophie Thomson (horticulturalist, author, television personality), and we are pleased to announce attendees will now receive 2 CPD points to go towards their accreditation!
Sophie Thomson
Sophie Thomson is an Australian horticulturalist, author and television and radio personality from Adelaide.
Thomson is a presenter on ABC's Gardening Australia and an ABC radio talk back host with extensive media experience.
She writes for major newspapers and magazines and authors books on gardening. Her focus is on the role gardening can play to enhance individual and community wellbeing.
Helen Dyer R海角社区 (Fellow)
A former Chair of the State Planning Commission and co-founder of planning consultancy Holmes Dyer pty ltd, Helen Dyer now acts as a Commissioner on the Environment, Resources and Development Court.
Helen has held senior positions for more than 30 years, including as a director, non-executive director, chair and local government CEO. She was the first ever female CEO in local government.
She has extensive experience and expertise across strategy, governance, town planning, administration, stakeholder management, consulting and reputation management.

Do you know a woman in South Australia making an outstanding contribution to planning outcomes, policy and practice? The 海角社区 SA Women in Planning Network (WIPN) invites you to submit a nomination!
This award is presented to a female planner who has made an outstanding contribution to planning in SA in the preceding 24 months. Nomination criteria include: an outstanding commitment to professional work; an outstanding contribution in leadership, operational, volunteering and mentoring roles within South Australia; and strong support for women in the related built environment profession(s).
