How might we create a housing legacy from 2032 Games?
Much of the focus in recent times has been on housing, whether it be in the areas of supply, affordability or design. The opportunity that the Olympics and Paralympics presents for long lasting legacy in the area of housing cannot be understated. The speakers for this event will discuss the opportunities and ideas that can be put in place to ensure that a housing legacy can form a key part of the Brisbane 2032 legacy.

As Chief Economist of PRD, Diaswati leads a nation-wide research team that provides high-quality property, housing, and (predominantly) residential market research to the PRD franchises, government departments, private and non-profit organisations, and private investors.
Julie Saunders M海角社区
Julie is an urban planner, strategist and property specialist with 30 years of experience working in diverse roles around the country. Her passion for serving community is demonstrated in her breadth of experience across various levels of government, the not for profit and private sectors. Julie is considered an expert in housing policy and development with a depth and breadth of experience in the successful conversion of policy development into delivery. Julie has undertaken large scale strategic planning and housing policy projects, with a focus in social and affordable housing, for a range of clients including local and state government, master plan developers and community housing providers. She has a diverse range of experience in the planning and development pipeline through her roles in statutory and strategic planning, policy development and agency work. Julie has led major reform initiatives across government including the reform of the planning system through her work with the Queensland State Government, developing social and affordable housing guidelines and action plans, advocacy work across the housing sector with peak bodies and as manager of large-scale development assessment and strategic planning teams in local government. Julie was appointed by the Minister as the Chair for the Housing Supply Expert Panel, nation leading initiative and is Board Chair of BRIC Housing.
This broad experience across both governments, private and the not-for-profit sectors positions her perfectly at Urbis to continue her city shaping work in creating a healthy housing system.
Jack Bryce OAM M海角社区
Jack Bryce is an urban designer with experience as a design consultant and advisor to government, business, residential, tourism and transit projects across Australia and internationally. Currently he is Principal Urban Designer at Moreton Bay Regional Council working on the Reshaping Our Region's Planning folio of Great Places improvement projects.
He is known as a strategic design policy advisor and creative facilitator for public infrastructure and civic precincts development. Prior to his work at Moreton Bay Council, he was involved in urban design coordination and design review for Gold Coast light rail and 2018 Commonwealth Games infrastructure and venues development working in the Office of Architecture and Heritage at City of Gold Coast.
He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to Urban Design in 2022.
