Bringing the ‘Green’ Back to Greenslopes is an outstanding analysis and evaluation of the Greenslopes Bowls Club and its surrounding open spaces. The project presents a compelling case for suburban renewal, proposing the transformation of the site into a multipurpose community hub, underpinned by innovative green architectural design. Central to the vision is the creation of ‘Wunya,’ a word from the Yuggera language meaning 'greetings' or 'welcome,' symbolising the inclusive and sustainable nature of the proposed redevelopment.
This redevelopment concept is informed by the students' comprehensive research into the site, the surrounding area, and the evolving demographic shifts in Greenslopes. Their ability to synthesise diverse data and translate their findings into a tangible, realistic plan was a key strength of the project.
The project also stands out for its exemplary use of technology, particularly AI, which was skillfully employed to enhance the reader’s visualisation of the proposal. The judges were particularly impressed with how the technology supported the narrative without overshadowing the core vision, demonstrating the students' ability to balance innovation with effective communication.
