The Buzz at Yarrabilba is a flagship community hub delivered by Logan City Council in collaboration with three Queensland Government departments, Brisbane Catholic Education and Lendlease.
The Buzz at Yarrabilba is an inclusive, engaging and responsive place that integrates a community centre, leasable rooms, multipurpose spaces, youth space, training room, outdoor spaces, and includes TAFE Qld as a lessee. It is also operated on an outcomes-based model - meaning operations are accountable and focussed on delivering long-term impacts for the community.
The judges were impressed by the project’s degree of genuine collaboration, with partners working together and pooling resources to provide an outstanding facility that meets community needs now, and as they change. The judges commend the project for its transferability, and hope lessons learned will be shared to ensure similar exceptional outcomes can be replicated throughout Queensland.
