This collaborative approach to planning involved engaging directly with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders to create a platform for storytelling.
Missions Connect seeks to document the State Heritage-Listed site of Mogumber Mission and the memories and lived experiences of the Stolen Generations Survivors. To do this, it worked with the survivors and Bringing Them Home WA Inc to build a better understanding of events and their impacts on Aboriginal people. To manage the sensitive information shared by Survivors, the Missions Connect project developed a virtual reality space that can be entered and explored by those seeking to understand the truth of the Stolen Generation.
Missions Connect is a transformative project that will reshape the process of gathering and sharing stories. It has established a process that can assist Planners to support the oldest living culture on earth.
